It was a great start to what will become a great show. I am glad that <a title=\"Click to visit and learn more about Dracula at the official NBC Network web site!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/dracula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC<\/a> took a chance on this and kept it in the fashion and tradition that the book by <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Bram Stoker\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bram_Stoker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bram Stoker<\/a> had intended.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">This week\u2019s episode gets more juicy (pun intended) as more and more about what Grayson (<a title=\"Click to visit and follow Jonathan Rhys Meyers on Twitter!\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JRM_official\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonathan Rhys Meyers<\/a>) has in store for the people of London. I am a bit of an expert when it comes to vampires, especially <a title=\"Click to visit and learn more about Dracula at the official NBC Network web site!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/dracula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dracula<\/a>. So if I go off on tangents about certain aspects or symbols, you know why. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I have a certain criteria when it comes to the legend and this version has stayed pretty true to the book and the lore.\u00a0 Granted the writers took a bit of liberty and changed a few things, but changed them for the better and they work beautifully.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I will also not review scene by scene, but the best points\/parts of the episode. I will spare you that, because believe me I can go on forever.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 15pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">The Blood Is the Life:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">Now, on with the review\u2026when I watched the premiere I did so in the dark, to give it that Gothic feeling, which the show has running throughout. The opening scene is gruesome, but necessary and what better way to do that then to sacrifice an underling. The transformation of bones to the flesh and blood of <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Dracula\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dracula<\/a> himself was creepy, but done <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/Dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-33 alignleft\" alt=\"Dracula S1x1-Awakening\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Awakening.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Awakening.jpg 640w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Awakening-256x139.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Awakening-320x174.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Awakening-400x217.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">well. The title of this episode is very fitting to not only the reason <a title=\"Click to visit and learn more about Dracula at the official NBC Network web site!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/dracula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dracula<\/a> comes back to life, but the source of life in general. Blood IS the life, without it we humans and all living creatures wouldn\u2019t be alive. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">That is why I always had a problem with what <a title=\"Click here to learn more about True Blood\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0844441\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">True Blood<\/a> introduced with the whole synthetic blood source, it just never made any sense to me. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">Plus the act itself, the sensuality of the biting, where it is located on the neck is one of the reasons Dracula has been somewhat of a romantic figure in mythology.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/Dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-34\" alt=\"Dracula S1x1-Bloodletting\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Bloodletting-320x174.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Bloodletting-320x174.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Bloodletting-256x139.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Bloodletting-400x217.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Bloodletting.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">The symbols on his coffin are ones that were depicted when associated with the \u201creal\u201d Dracula, <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Vlad Tepes\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vlad_Tepes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vlad Tepes<\/a>. It showed the gruesome way he impaled people on stakes and the pleasure he got out of it. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">The Romanian Prince was definitely not one to trifle with, the <a title=\"Click here to learn more about the Order of the Dragon\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Order_of_the_Dragon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Order of the Dragon<\/a> was a fierce group. The Order will come up again later in the episode and the reason for Grayson\u2019s disdain for them will become clear. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">If memory serves, <a title=\"Click to visit and learn more about Dracula at the official NBC Network web site!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/dracula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dracula<\/a> himself is part of the Order of The Dragon, but I am not sure if that is mentioned in this episode or not.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/Dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-57\" alt=\"Dracula S1x1-Symbols\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Symbols-400x217.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Symbols-400x217.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Symbols-256x139.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Symbols-320x174.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Symbols.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">From the awakening in the crypt to the appearance of him in London was a great transition. I like how they showed that he is a daper gentlemen and that his place in society is set. I also like that the producers cast a man of color in the role of <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Renfield\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/character\/ch0002581\/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Renfield<\/a> (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Nonso Anozie\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1996829\/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nonso Anozie<\/a>). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">It gives the story a bit of a different feel, si<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/Dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-44\" alt=\"Dracula S1x1-Grayson the American\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Grayson-the-American-400x217.jpg\" width=\"401\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Grayson-the-American-400x217.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Grayson-the-American-256x139.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Grayson-the-American-320x174.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Grayson-the-American.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 401px) 100vw, 401px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">nce all of the actors that have played that role have all been white (one of my favorites being <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Tom Waits\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001823\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tom Waits<\/a>). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">Renfield has always been Dracula\u2019s right hand and in this series that doesn\u2019t seem to change. Although it does seem that he is a bit more of his henchman so to speak than just a <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Familiar Spirits\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Familiar_spirit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">familiar<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I like how Renfield corrects Grayson on the pronunciation of schedule from his normal British way to how Americans say it, since Grayson is playing himself off as an American in London. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\"><a title=\"Dracula S1x01 - The costumes are stunning  -- Episode 1-- Pictured: (l-r) Jessica De Gouw as Mina Murray, Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Jonathan Harker, Katie McGrath as Lucy Westenra -- (Photo by: Jonathon Hession\/NBC)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/dracula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-72\" alt=\"Dracula S1x01 - The costumes are stunning  -- Episode 1-- Pictured: (l-r) Jessica De Gouw as Mina Murray, Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Jonathan Harker, Katie McGrath as Lucy Westenra -- (Photo by: Jonathon Hession\/NBC)\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NUP_155254_2304-400x266.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NUP_155254_2304-400x266.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NUP_155254_2304-256x170.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NUP_155254_2304-320x213.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NUP_155254_2304-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NUP_155254_2304-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NUP_155254_2304.jpg 642w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a>I love the costumes in this series that was one of the first things I noticed. It is also one of my favorite things in period pieces, along with the art direction. I applaud both the costume designer (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Annie Symons\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0843377\/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Annie Symons<\/a>) and Art Director (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Laszlo Demeter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm4145745\/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laszlo Demeter<\/a>) for their incredible eye for detail. It looks like the producers spared no expense for the production.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">Seeing Jonathan go from one diabolical, charismatic character (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Henry VIII\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/character\/ch0027581\/?ref_=tt_cl_t1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Henry VIII<\/a>) in <a title=\"Click here to find out more about The Tudors\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0758790\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Tudors<\/a> to another it seems that he was born to play this role. The ironic thing is that I said years ago to someone that he would make a great vampire, and I guess I was right. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">He has a certain swagger about him and a sensuality that definitely makes women swoon. Henry VIII was a stud in his time and so is Dracula at least that is what the legend always mentioned. I like that she dove straight into Lucy\u2019s cheekiness, her innuendo that has always been a part of her character. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I bet she will be having fun with it<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/Dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-50 alignleft\" alt=\"Dracula S1x1-Mina, Jonathan &amp; Lucy\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Mina-Jonathan-Lucy-400x217.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Mina-Jonathan-Lucy-400x217.jpg 400w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Mina-Jonathan-Lucy-256x139.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Mina-Jonathan-Lucy-320x174.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Mina-Jonathan-Lucy.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">. Lucy is a bit of a free spirit and in that time, it was unheard of for women to have any kind of voice or try their hand at a male dominated profession as we will see later on with M<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">ina.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I like that there is some politics peppered throughout the episode. How the Brits look down upon this \u201cAmerican\u201d with turned up noses not realizing he is one of them. He is giving them a taste of their own medicine as I am sure we will see as the series progresses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">The moment Grayson sees Mina, something changes in him. He sees his dead wife, the one he is avenging, the one that was killed brutally by the Order of the Dragon. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">It\u2019s funny how the story of <a title=\"Click to visit and learn more about Dracula at the official NBC Network web site!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/dracula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dracula<\/a> is not considered a love story, since his primary motivation is the love he had for his wife and the revenge against those that killed her. That is the very definition of love story, at least in Dracula\u2019s eyes. <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Jonathan Rhys Meyers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001667\/?ref_=tt_cl_t3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rhys Meyers<\/a> plays it perfectly. I will be quoting from the book and comparing the book to the episodes. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">For those that have read the book, you will recognize the passages. They think that he is an American and therefore not even worthy of their presence. It is only when he sees <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Mina Murray\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/character\/ch0002558\/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mina<\/a> again up close and she mentions to him that she has a feeling that they have met before does he feel validated. His problem however is Harker is in the way, which I am sure will be a thorn in his side for the remainder of the season.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">One thing that made me giggle was when Lady Jane (Victoria Smurfit) followed Grayson out to the garden and he said \u201cLady Jane, I didn\u2019t hear you approaching\u201d. The comment I am sure was meant to be tongue in cheek since vampires are known for their heightened senses. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">Her retort is even better\u2026I have a feeling I am going to absolutely love Lady Jane! \u00a0I have been a fan of Victoria\u2019s for a while. She has done some great work in two of my favorite shows (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Ballykissangel\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0115105\/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_18\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ballykissangel<\/a> and <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Berkeley Square\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0157216\/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Berkeley Square<\/a>). I like that the director (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Steve Shill\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0793455\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steve Shill<\/a>) decided to make the attack happen off camera, with just the sound and visual of the blood but not the actual act being shown. That makes the act itself that much more gruesome, it leaves it up to the viewer\u2019s imagination as to what happened.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/Dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41\" alt=\"Dracula S1x1-First victim\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-First-victim.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-First-victim.jpg 640w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-First-victim-256x139.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-First-victim-320x174.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-First-victim-400x217.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I love that the writer (<a title=\"Click to visit and follow Cole Haddon on Twitter!\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/colehaddon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cole Haddon<\/a>) made a bit of historical reference when <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Browning\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/character\/ch0394793\/?ref_=tt_cl_t5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Browning<\/a> (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Ben Miles\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0587060\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ben Miles<\/a>) asks Jane (Victoria Smurfit) when the last time a vampire roamed the streets of London and she said 8 years to his reply of \u201cthe <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Whitechapel Murders\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Whitechapel_murders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Whitechapel Killings<\/a>\u201d\u2026meaning <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Jack the Ripper\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jack_the_Ripper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack the Ripper<\/a>. I thought that was awesome! Since those murders still remain unsolved, that notion doesn\u2019t seem too far fetched\u2026I would believe it!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">It seems that Jane and Browning are the keepers of the secret and know that vampires do exist (as we will see later in the episode). I am glad that there will be at least two characters who have knowledge of the undead and will be able to handle themselves if a war should arise.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">The character of <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Van Helsing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/character\/ch0002557\/?ref_=tt_cl_t7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Van Helsing<\/a> is one that I love. I think that my favorite incarnation of him was done by <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Sir Anthony Hopkins\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000164\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sir Anthony Hopkins<\/a> in <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Francis Ford Coppola\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000338\/?ref_=nv_sr_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coppola\u2019s<\/a> version of <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Dracula\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0103874\/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dracula<\/a>. As repressed as that society was, the women were skillful but smart. They knew that men would be threatened if woman really asserted themselves and used their brains. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">As much as they were considered inferior at that time, they also knew how to watch and learn. It will be interesting to see how the writers portray the women in this series. You already have the smart one (Mina), the mysterious one (Lady Jayne) and the flirtatious one (Lucy). What happens when Grayson enters is priceless, how quickly Grayson shakes Harker\u2019s hand and how cleverly Grayson moves the chair to just the cusp of the sunlight. Brilliantly done by Rhys-Meyers, his finesse noted. Harker of course thinks that he is a bit of a conundrum writing words like visionary, del<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">usional and egomaniac\u2026isn\u2019t that what all geniuses are?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">Grayson\u2019s obsession with Mina will surely be his salvation and damnation. The way that Grayson stalks her after her class is creepy and <a title=\"Click here to learn more about Jonathan Rhys Meyers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001667\/?ref_=rvi_nm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonathan<\/a> does it well, not taking his eyes off her. He has mastered being a vampire already, he knows how to seduce and kill with incredible skill. The act of drinking blood is almost like having intercourse, the same rush and hunger is there, but sated in a different way. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">The seduction is part of the foreplay, the act is the crescendo, so hot to watch! It reminded me of the <a title=\"Click here to learn more about The Matrix\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0133093\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matrix<\/a> in its action sequence. Does Hermann Kruger (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Michael Nardone\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0621382\/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michael Nardone<\/a>) know better than to face off against the king of the vampires? Has his vampire hunting ways taught him nothing? Apparently not considering his fate. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">Grayson\u2019s message to a dying Kruger that he will \u201csoon be joined in hell by scores of your brethren\u201d is a warning that I feel will be repeated numerous times in the series until all have met their fate.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/dracula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48\" alt=\"Dracula S1x1-Kruger's death\" src=\"http:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Krugers-death.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Krugers-death.jpg 640w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Krugers-death-256x139.jpg 256w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Krugers-death-320x174.jpg 320w, https:\/\/wormholeriders.net\/dracula\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Dracula-S1x1-Krugers-death-400x217.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Calibri'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Calibri';\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I love love love that Jane is a bad-ass. She not only is smart and beautiful, but a warrior as well. I am glad that she is going to be a significant part of the story and I for one am looking forward to seeing her in action. Her confidence isn\u2019t rattled, not even when she confront another vampire that she has caged up. The female vampire (<a title=\"Click here to learn more about Viera Gaon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm6044412\/?ref_=fn_al_nm_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Viera Gaon<\/a>) warns <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">her of others that will follow if she dies. He seems to have a similar agenda as Grayson, albeit for different reasons. He scolds Grayson about the difference between a vendetta and vengeance. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">I have a feeling that Van Helsing will be reining in Grayson more and more over the season. Of course, Grayson doesn\u2019t react too well to being scolded, he asserts his power over Van Helsing and makes him deadly aware that Grayson is in control. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri';\">The reason for the alignment with Grayson becomes clear when we find out that Van Helsing as well has his own reasons for wanting to kill off the <a title=\"Click here to learn more about the Order of the Dragon\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Order_of_the_Dragon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Order of the Dragon<\/a>. In the end we finally find out the reason behind Grayson\u2019s vengeance. They killed his wife, and for that they will all pay.
