Hello Stargate<\/a> fans! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"MGM<\/a>The Stargate<\/a> is FINALLY coming back as we here at WormholeRiders<\/a> predicted long ago! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier this year,\u00a0 Roland Emmerich<\/a> and Dean Devlin<\/a> announced a Stargate<\/a> Triology reboot. MGM Studios<\/a> and Warner Brothers<\/a> are backing the project, which is described as a new trilogy that “re-imagines” 1994’s original\u00a0Stargate<\/em>\u00a0movie. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Stargate<\/a>In our opinion, a Stargate<\/a> trilogy series of new movies is a great thing! It is awesome, in fact. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

However, in our well considered opinion, whether they want to admit it or not, Emmerich and Devlin owe any Stargate<\/a> movie sequels to the success of the television franchise brought to us by Brad Wright<\/a> and Jonathan Glassner<\/a>, developer and writer-producer of the very successful three Canadian made series, Stargate SG-1<\/a>, Stargate Atlantis<\/a> and Stargate Universe<\/a> produced at The Bridge Studios<\/a> in Vancouver, British Columbia.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Stargate<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Jonathan<\/a>Glassner says that studio executives picked up his idea for a TV version of the 1994 movie because, \u201cthey weren\u2019t sure it had done well enough at the box office to warrant a sequel.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He adds that Stargate worked better as a TV show because \u201cthe Stargate<\/a> can send the crew on a new and completely different adventure every week.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Dean<\/a>Dean Devlin supports Glassner\u2019s opinion adding his perspective, \u201cWe did the original Stargate as an independent movie. It was a surprise success. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Shortly before the movie came out, the financiers who were frightened the movie might not do well sold the film to MGM Studios<\/a>. When the film came out, it was a hit and spawned the TV shows. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Of all the projects I\u2019ve ever done, Stargate<\/a> is the only one from the beginning intended to be a trilogy. We always wanted to do parts two and three, but the thinking was they didn\u2019t want to do anything other than the TV series. So literally for 20 years I\u2019ve been chasing this project. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Twenty years later, we cannot really do a part two. We have to start over from the beginning. So let\u2019s reboot the series, put in all the things we could not do the first time, and set it up properly.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And, in our opinion, why not reboot the television series after the trilogy? After all, Stargate<\/a> fans are ready for another dip in the giant circle!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
