First our special thanks to Ms. Kate Davids of Phoenix Comicon<\/a> for all her wonderful help! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Howdy from the Southwest Desert!\u00a0 We\u2019ve actually been having unseasonably cool(ish) weather this week here in Phoenix, which is probably nice for the guests of the Phoenix Comicon<\/a> as they are surely not used to our normal temperatures.\u00a0 (Cool-ish temps being around a balmy 80-95 degrees (Fahrenheit, ~32.2 Celsius).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday night started off with lines for pre-registration.\u00a0 Luckily, I was able to skip this long line because the wonderful people of Phoenix Comicon were kind enough to grant WHR with a media badge. I love preview night because there are not as many people around and you can get the layout of the land so to speak, so you know where you\u2019ll like to spend time browsing between your panel times.\u00a0 I met some awesome comic illustrators and even got a sketch of myself by R.K. Milholland<\/a>!\u00a0 You can read his webcomics at www.somethingpositive.net<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Exhibitor Hall is packed full of great finds.\u00a0 I got a copy of Blackest Night <\/em>signed by Geoff Johns himself!\u00a0 (Blackest Night<\/em> is a comic about a\u00a0personified force of death resurrecting dead superheroes and trying to eliminate all life and emotion from the universe\u2026) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There are all sorts of wonderful costumes to see all over the place from anime to Mario.\u00a0 Costumes are probably one of my most favorite things to see at any given con.\u00a0 I\u2019m constantly amazed at people\u2019s creativeness while making their own costumes. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While wondering around I found the Star Wars booth with plenty of Storm Troopers to keep it safe.\u00a0 They even captured someone!\u00a0 Everyone at the booth was very friendly and I hope I get more chances to go back and visit with them. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Like with any good con, there is always tons of free, yes you read me right, FREE swag.\u00a0 At Phoenix Comicon<\/strong>, tonight it was posters.\u00a0 There were tables and tables of free posters.\u00a0 Of course, if you\u2019re not quick, you\u2019ll miss out because they fly like hotcakes! I really enjoyed the stuffed toys table which I took a shot of for Zoe (@Superrhuman).<\/a>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"For<\/a><\/p>\n

I also saw the poster for David Hewlett\u2019s <\/a>new movie Splice <\/em>that opens on July fourth and I burst out laughing at the name of the creature.\u00a0 See, her name is Dren and if you know anything about me, you\u2019ll know that I am a ridiculously large fan of Farscape.\u00a0 And<\/em> if you\u2019ve ever seen Farscape, then you\u2019ll also know that they have their own made up swear words and Dren happens to be one of them.\u00a0 (Well, I thought it was funny and I know you Farscape fans do too!\u00a0 Don\u2019t deny it!)\u00a0 This movie looks really intense and amazing! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I also got to see a glimpse of Wil Wheaton signing autographs.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the line was around the room, so I did not have time to get in it, but I am planning on getting one tomorrow if at all possible.\u00a0 I asked via Twitter and found out that Felicia Day will have copies of the Season 3 DVD’s of The Guild for sale tomorrow which I\u2019m planning on purchasing and having signed by her and Wil.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He is a major character in season 3 and, from the last episode; it looks like he\u2019ll be sticking around for season 4! I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s just me, but after seeing Wil on The Big Bang Theory as Evil Wil Wheaton, the first thing I wanted to do once I saw him was scream, \u201cWHEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTOOOOOONNNNNNN!\u201d\u00a0 Just me?\u00a0 Okay then\u2026\u00a0 Moving on.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Wil<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Click<\/a>Well, I had a fantastic preview night!\u00a0 There was even a screening of Warehouse 13<\/a>!\u00a0 I assumed it would be a preview of a new episode from the new second season, but I was wrong.\u00a0 They screened the Edgar Alan Poe episo<\/span><\/span>\"Click<\/a><\/span><\/span>de from season one, but it was still really cool to watch it on a big screen with people who enjoy it as much as I do.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
