Welcome back Body of Proof Fans,
Dreams came true in December’s last episode of Body of Proof– a coal miner wins the lottery and installs a luxury locker room for his colleagues. Lacey (Mary Mouser) uses her credit card for a fashion emergency (where does one wear a $300 hat?)
And the nightmare? Coal miner Walt gets murdered. The hat goes back, and Lacey spends her school break on paperwork.
Walt is living the life of the nouveau riche- tanning, vacationing, and partying, until it is all literally thrown out the window!
Our first intriguing suspect- a celebrity chef, whose unique beef was found in a cut on Walt’s arm. But: no Walt, no more knife-throwing parties.
Next up, the best friend Dave, who insists Walt changed after the money, something he believed impossible. Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) finds an adrenal tumor to support his beliefs, one he had before he won the lottery.
Walt’s custom bike is found in the hands of Justine, his ‘custom event planner’. She insists it was a gift, but of course, Walt cannot back her up.
Justine did not have the strength to inflict Walt’s fatal wound. Neither, as it turns out, does the man who confessed to his murder- Dave. Megan uses the bruise on Dave’s abdomen to back up his story.
They struggled for the knife and Walt fell on it. A tragic yet truly accidental murder.
In an adorable aside, Lacey laments, “I have a life. My friends are in school this week and they’re talking about boys! I’m missing out on my youth!” And as Ethan (Geoffrey Arend) extends a donut, Curtis (Windell Middlebrooks) “cordially invites [you] to the break room.” He tells her work is just work.
In exchange, Lacey reassures Ethan that he will find a way to help the sister of the botched appendectomy victim she earlier comforted. And by talking to the dead, he does- finding contaminated equipment and saving lives.
